Do you feel like you’re always carrying around unnecessary items? Same. Yet at the same time I also feel like there’s more I need in case of an emergency. Down below are 10 essentials you need to have.
1. Hand Sanitizer
I don’t know how much more to stress this. If your driver, you know how bad it is when you fill up your car with gas and then you wanna take a sip of water or even re-apply your makeup. Hand Sanitizer is a must, especially since some gas station bathrooms are questionable. Just in general if you touch something gross you disinfect your hands, so it’s a must for on the go emergencies.
2. Water Bottle
If your not much of a water drinker I get that, I just mean in general having a beverage on hand is must. Especially in the summer; I hate when I’m driving and the temperature in my car is hotter than the temperature outside. So just imagine reaching for a beverage in your purse and you don’t have one. In many cases, you can’t help but be thirsty and an on the go water bottle that you can fill up and place into your purse is an important on the go essential.
3. Pepper Spray
I know most likely a walk down a dark road will be nothing but just that. Or even a walk to your car in the middle of the night can have us shaking in our boots, but nothing could happen either. No psycho hiding on the side! But the reality is you’ll never know, so keep one on you for emergencies.
I personally never thought this was important. Until I got a few paper cuts this week, and there were no bandaids in sight. Maybe your running to your office in heels and you get a blister, or even you fall on the subway. Or you could babysit like me, and it doesn’t feel so good to not be prepared when one of the little ones fall in the playground. Just carry a couple for emergencies, it’s good for you, and those around you who need it.
5. Pen and paper
Whether you need to take down a number, or even sign a check at the bank. Pens and paper always come in handy.
Personally for me this is an essential. I have long periods of allergies all year long, and if I don’t have tissues I literally won’t be able to breathe through my nose. Plus I have had incidents where I spilled juice on my shirt, or a friend needed one. There definitely on the top of my list.
7. Makeup bag
Have you ever needed to touch up your concealer or apply more powder on your face? Well I have, and I get so stressed out whether I did my makeup at home, and all I took in my bag was lip balm. You may never use it like that, but one day it will come in handy, and if your me, you open it a few times a day.
8. Period bag
I’ve personally been working on building this, than just carrying pads. If you really think about it, you may need wipes, a change of underwear or advil if your cramps like to sneak up on you, and exc. Plus do we ever really know when aunt flow is on the way, if you do than great, some of us are still caught by surprise. So keep one in your bag regardless, it could come in handy sometime this month even.
9. Back up money
I never thought much about this. But even on a bad day I’ve opened my purse and realized I forgot my wallet. Luckily I had $20 bill in one of my pockets because I suck at organizing, so that’s how I bought lunch that day. Keeping a bill of either $10 or $20, but no more than $20 can be a lifesaver. The reason I say no more than $20 is mainly because if God forbid you bag is stolen, I would even prefer losing $20 over $50 which has happened to me before, so just keep an eye on your stuff and don’t keep soo much money lying around.
I probably remember this more than anything else in my bag. I never remember to put this on getting ready, I’m always driving while spraying myself it’s incredible, and also a necessity. Just to let you know I’ve been wearing “Rose” from bath and body works, it smells so pretty and lasts quite a while since I’m out all day.
I hope you enjoyed this, and enjoy your new bag.
